THE INVITATION
Sometimes we need someone to help us clarify our goals and stay accountable.
Sometimes we need someone who will simply sit with us, listen deeply, and make space for what is emerging.
And sometimes we need a philosophical framework - a way of thinking that helps us make sense of our choices and live our spiritual practice more fully.
Sometimes we need all three.
We don't have to know exactly what we need before we begin. We can discover that as we explore together.
Are you investigating questions around your personal yoga and meditation practice, technique questions, relationship to spiritual community, or lack thereof? Have you left a community because it's too culty and are exploring your next steps? Do you have questions and want to learn more about different methods of meditation and how they relate to your personal Ayurveda mind-body type?
Are you wrestling with obstacles on the path, or are you looking to connect with someone to offer you support on your life journey?
I am here to sit with you in the mystery and share my experience of studying and living on the path of yoga and meditation for over 30 years.
In these one-on-one sessions, I co-create with you a contemplative space for mantra/prayer, meditation, reflection, and conversation, reflecting on what has been and looking to what can be while sitting in the mystery of the present moment.
Drawing from Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedanta, Mantra Yoga, Bhakti, Interfaith spirituality, and my own experience of living in spirituality committees and diving deep into spiritual practice, these Sitting in the Mystery sessions offer a space where I can accompany you as you explore the questions that are alive within you.
There is no formula and no predetermined destination.
We step into the mystery together and see what begins to unfold.

YOGA MAYA RISING
Inviting the Divine Into Daily Life
At the heart of Yoga Maya Rising is a simple invitation:
To invite the Divine to be fully present in our daily lives as we "chop wood and carry water."
Yoga Maya Rising is a consciousness of loving, service-oriented living - a way of approaching ourselves, one another, and the world with greater presence, devotion, compassion, and awareness.
We believe that spiritual life does not have to be separated from ordinary life.
All activities offer an opportunity for spiritual practice.
Yogic perspectives on mantra and breath in every moment change how we show up in relationships.
Devotion can infuse our work.
Yoga can become a way of living.
Through prayer, meditation, mantra, yoga, contemplation, service, and relationship, we practice remembering what is sacred in the midst of ordinary life.
This is the spirit in which these sessions are offered.
Living the Mystery Sessions are to support you in growing as a "modern mystic with a mission heart".
ONE-ON-ONE SPIRITUAL COMPANIONSHIP
A Space to Listen, Be, and Unfold Deeper into Presence
These sessions offer a grounded, contemplative space for reflection, discernment, and spiritual integration.
Depending on what is alive for you, a session might include:
-
Mantra/prayer or meditation
-
Pranayama Breath practices
-
Exploring your mind-body Ayurvedic type and how it impacts Yoga and Meditation
-
Reflection on yogic philosophy or sacred texts
-
Developing or deepening a personal spiritual practice
-
Exploring questions of meaning and purpose
-
Navigating a spiritual or life transition
-
Discerning what your next step might be
-
Exploring how spirituality can become more fully integrated into everyday life
There is no prescribed formula.
Sometimes we may practice together.
Sometimes we may talk.
Sometimes the most important thing is simply becoming quiet enough to notice what is already present.
The intention is not for me (trevor) to tell you what your path should be, but to create a space where you can listen more deeply and discern what is unfolding.
A YOGIC AND INTERFAITH APPROACH
Your Spiritual Path Is Your Own
My spiritual life is rooted in the Yoga/Christian tradition while remaining deeply Interfaith and non-sectarian.
Yoga is approached here not simply as a physical practice, but as an energetic matrix, contemplative path of inner inquiry, ethical living, devotion, and spiritual maturation.
You do not need to adopt a particular religious belief to participate.
Your own tradition, beliefs, questions, and experiences are welcomed.
For some, this may mean exploring a relationship with God through a particular faith tradition. For others, it may mean meditation, devotion, nature, service, or a more open-ended exploration of spirituality.
Rather than imposing beliefs, these sessions invite you to explore:
-
how your own tradition, values, or worldview inform your life
-
where yogic practices may complement your existing spiritual path
-
how spiritual practice can become authentic, embodied, and sustainable
-
what happens when we anchor deeply into yogic philosophy and Ayurvedic mind-body realities
-
what happens when we create space to listen rather than immediately seek answers
The invitation is not to replace your spiritual path, or commitments to methods or practices, but to see how I can support you in deepening into your own richness.

Your contribution supports the work of Yoga Maya Rising and helps us make spiritual practice, community, and service available to others.
